The Danish Cartoon Crisis and Mother Europe

There's been some livelier than usual commentating (to coin a term) over the longer-term implications of the Danish Cartoon Crisis for Mother Europe.

Victor Davis Hansen has an excellent piece at RealClearPolitics, while there's some backing and forthing going on at Cato Unbound here and here. All display the kind of deep thinking that has been pretty much absent since the story went supernova.
