Our Favorite Iraq War Political Cartoon

Pat Oliphant was a semi-struggling Australian emigree political cartoonist in the mid-1960s when I began running his trenchant pen-and-ink treatments on the Vietnam War on the editorial page of my university newspaper.

Oliphant has since won many awards and ignited many controversies. He is the most widely syndicated political cartoonist in the world and sits atop the pantheon of great cartoonists in the tradition of Thomas Nast, the father of the genre.

This 2006 offering is Oliphant at his best.
